Done Swapping our Taps - What's Next?
Today marks the end of swapping out taps on Virginia’s only USDA Certified Organic Maple Syrup Farm. It’s been about month or so since we started this project and the work has taken place in all weathers. From rain to snow and even ice. This year we experienced some really cold weather, coldest we have ever had working in the woods. Today we are done! That doesn’t mean we are ready for the water to start flowing but we are done with swapping taps. Next we need to fix a lot of trees that fell on the lines and then start testing.
